Built as a gift to
his wife, George Boldt built this magnificent structure as a tribute to
the love they shared. Set amidst the lush trees of Heart
Island.
The Power House is
perhaps one of the most interesting areas of the caslte. Totally seperate
from the other structures, these building was responsible for supplying
the much needed power for the main Castle, as well as the numerous other
areas such as the Boat House (see picture below), and the children's play
house (bottom of picture above).
The Boat House was
designed to hold the numerous boat owned by George Boldt and his family.
Note the extremely high doors that were necessary to accommodate the tall
ships of the era.
